Battle of the products: Cream Eyeshadows! Part 1

Hello lovelies!

As you can see from the title, this post is going to be about cream shadows.
Cream shadows have been a huge hit the past few years as it a product that can be used many different ways. They are shadows which are made into a cream formula so unlike powder shadows they last a lot longer and can combat a lot better with facial oil and normal daily life. Just a swipe of cream shadow on to the lids and it can be a colour on its own or you can put powder shadows on top for a more intense look.

Over the past year or two I have made a small collection of cream shadows which I use all the time.
I don't have a huge range of colours but I am planning to increase my stash as these have become a staple in my everyday life. 

I use cream shadows mostly as a base so my eye look can last the whole day and also using them makes the shadows look more vibrant and crisp.




I have four different cream shadow brands in my collection.
MAC, Makeup Forever, Benefit, Maybelline.

My first ever cream shadow that I bought was by MAC since everyone had it and at the time I didn't know the ins and outs of all the other brands at the time. MAC shadows were always talked about and used by many so I decided to choose two colours which I knew I would use a lot.
I purchased these at the airport so it was cheaper than buying retail price and I was on my way to Fiji at the time so it was a great chance to test them out. 
All I applied on my eyes were these two shadows and it lasted through water, sweat and a lot of sight seeing. Yes they did wear off a bit but you could still see that I had colour on my eyes.

However, Rubenesque was a lot sheerer than I thought. I guess on my skin shade it comes off a lot sheerer than paler people since the undertones of both the shadow and my skin are quite similar.
Coral Crepe on the other hand is a great all over the eye shadow that does not look too strong or too sheer. A great colour to be wearing at the beach.
The formula is very smooth and silky and blends well. I will definitely be trying out other shades but the price is a little high compared to other brands so I will have to choose widely.

Makeup Forever was the next brand I bought which was from IMATS Sydney. I was very excited to purchase a few things from MUF since it is so hard to get your hands on in Australia and it is also overpriced. Since IMATS has discounted prices I decided to try out a few of their products.
The two shadows I picked up were pink and dark charcoal with silver shimmer. (Sorry numbers are rubbed off)
I don't quite know what to say about this product. Yes they are good with great pigmentation and staying power since they are a waterproof product but they are really hard to work with. They do not blend as smoothly as desired and can get a bit blotchy in some places. The pink has a more uneven finish than the charcoal grey.
For the dark shadow I use a precision brush to bend out the colour which gives it a great finish so I think with this product I will need to use a brush to blend it out rather than my finger.
If they changed the formulation around a bit and made it a lot easier to work with I will definitely want to try more colours since it is waterproof but for now I am not interested.
