Nail It! :)

 Hello lovelies!

Wow it seems like its been ages since I did a Nail It post.
I guess that is because of the nail strips that I applied on around two weeks ago. Yep that's right! It lasted a whopping TWO weeks. I was very impressed.
Yes there was the wear and tear on the tips but it was mostly still intact and looked good enough to keep on for so long.

I finally got sick of the design and had to take it off.
This time I opted for a gradient effect which a lot of people seem to be doing these days.
Since it is winter here in Australia I went for a less brighter look and used mossy grey greens to achieve the look.

Products used
Essie Polish - Topless and Barefoot, Da Bush, Sew Psyched
Essie Protein base coat
Sally Hansen Instadry top coat
makeup sponge
cotton tip
Manicare nail polish remover

Steps
1. Apply base coat to protect your nails
2. Using a rectangle cut out sponge apply nail polish straight onto the sponge in colour order lightest to darkest.
3. Dap the sponge onto the nail lightly back and forth
4. Continue to reapply polish to sponge and dab onto nails until you are pleased with the outcome.
5. Apply top coat to blend all colours and finish off with a great shine.
6. Clean the edges of fingers with a cotton tip dipped in nail polish remover.

As you can see in the first photo I changed the colour direction creating darkest to lightest instead of lightest to darkest.
You can create an amazing array of different colours and designs by changing the angle of how you dab it. You have the traditional gradient from end to tip, or you can go side to side or diagonally.

I think I will be hooked on this look for quite some time.

Skin care routine - Day

Hello lovelies.

Winter is giving me a hard time this year with dry skin and lips that is constantly screaming for moisture.
I also recently had a bit of a bad skin breakout where my face feels like a mandarin. GROSS.

I have normal to combination skin where my T-zone can get a bit oily but nothing excessive. My skin in general is pretty clean other than the odd spot here and there.

I am not someone who has a routine or sticks by one because frankly I cannot be bothered sitting there layering product after product. I follow the simple cleanse, tone, moisturise. Thats it.

So let me start off with my morning routine.
1. Wash face without any products, just water. I do not see the need to cleanse with any form of cleansers in the morning since its not like I am rubbing my face in anything dirty after my night routine.

2. Toner. At the moment I use the Body Shop Seaweed Clarifying Toner dabbed on a cotton pad and wiped all over the face to fix my moisture level on the skin.

3. Day moisturiser. I am using Lancome Hydrationist. This product is light weight, smells refreshing and sinks into the skin very fast.

4. Suncream. I either use the Face Shop natural Triple Action Sun Cream or my Vitazing tinted moisturiser. If I am applying foundation I will use the Makeup Forever UV Prime SPF 50 PA +++. You always need to protect the skin with your daily SPF. Even if the weather is gloomy I do not miss this step.

5. Make up. I try not to leave the house without makeup. Even if its minimal.

6. Make up setting spray. At the moment I am alternating between my Australis Makeup Finishing Spritz and MAC Fix Plus. I feel this locks in my makeup into my skin and also gives me the final spritz of moisture.

See. There's not much to my morning routine. I can be ready and out in 10 minutes. (although this depends where I'm headed for the day. If i need more attention to my make up it can take up to 30 minutes. If its just to work than 10 minutes max)
How long does it take you in the morning to get ready?!

Lust Have It! - June

It is that time of the month again... LHI time!

But first of all can I say... I am a little disappointed with this months package.
As soon as I got home from work the box was sitting on my box which brightened up my mood after a long day of work but ......... it felt rather light?!

I didn't want to jump to conclusions so I opened the package straight away but alas..my instincts were correct. I know its about samples and trying out new products but this bag was by far the worst one I have received.

The contents consists of
- LonVitalite-24k Active Golden Yulan Oil Facial Mask
- LonVitalite-23k Active Gold Full Eye Mask
- Batiste dry shampoo in Blush
- Marc Jacobs Lola perfume sample
- Roberto Cavalli perfume sample
- Bloom glitter eye liner in silver

So I was happy to receive the batiste dry shampoo since I already use this particular brand and quite like it. It is infused with a scent to give a normal dry shampoo a twist.

I'm excited to use the face and eye masks since I have just started to get into the whole sheet mask hype and this is infused with gold! oooo lala. I'll feel a million dollars.. well hopefully.

I already own a glitter eye liner so I wasn't too excited for this product. If it came in a different colour than maybe it would have interested me but alas. Now I own two silver glitter eye liners.

The last samples were perfume samples. There was 2 samples from 4 you would have received but just my luck I get the ones I don't want or fancy. I really like the Mark Jacobs Daisy line but nooooooooo I had to get the other ones. Sigh.

Why do I have such bad luck when it comes to lucky dips? Never do I win anything or get what I want :(
O.K I'll stop my annoyed rant.
Once again I'll be posting up reviews of these products one by one.

Anyways, I hope LHI becomes a bit more personalised so I get things I actually am interested in.

Review It!

Volume and shine is always something a girl wants when it comes to hair.
Hairsprays are now bringing out new products which give great volume, shine and flexible texture so you don't get that hard crumbling feeling to the touch.

A new product has started to hit the market that is becoming a great hit to most hair lovers.
Sea Salt spray is a new way to give texture and volume to your hair but keeping it soft to the touch. In other words its beach hair. Most of you would know what I mean when I say beach hair- you get volume, hold and texture thanks to the sea water drying in your hair. Some like it, some don't.

De Lorenzo Elements Ocean Mist Sea salt styling spray.
I received this product in my April Lust Have It package and was delighted to give it a try. I have not tried any other sea salt sprays before so I was quite excited. My work colleague owns Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray and she loves it, always spraying her hair with this product every day. StyleSuzi also reviewed this product and she loves it!

After my shower I shook and sprayed the product through my hair and scrunched my hair to give it shape and waves. I like the finished look and will definitely use this product and may purchase it again.
It is Australian owned, not tested on animals, uses certified organic ingredients and contains natural U.V protection.
Cost: 195 mL $23.95

Review it!

Clio Eye Pencils

Being an Asian can be pretty difficult at times when it comes to make up and staying power.
I have slightly droopy eyes meaning that when I use pencil eye liner it smudges everywhere and I look like I've been crying or standing in the rain. Sigh.

Therefore I am always drawn to waterproof products. They don't budge or smudge meaning I don't need to worry about what my make up will look throughout the day. Because of this smudging problem I tend to stick to liquid or gel liners as they last longer with minimal smudging.
However there is one product that has been named best affordable waterproof eye liner from the Korean beauty show "Get It Beauty".

Clio Professional Gelpresso Waterproof pencil gel liner.

It comes in 12 lovely and vibrant shades which caters to every ones preference starting from the most common black, brown, pearl to the more vibrant purple, blue and greens.

I have Beige Shine No.1 and Golden Khaki No.3
Beige Shine is a light peach champagne colour with a beautiful sheen and  great to brighten up the eyes.
Golden Khaki is a deep khaki colour with gold flecks which glisten in the light. Great for under eye liner.
The formula is amazing with their smooth consistency and great pigmentation. Once the product sets it does not budge for most of the day but you may need a touch up during the day just to bring back a little more colour. It is a twist up pencil meaning no product is wasted and less mess involved. If you want a finer tip it also comes with a sharpener that is attached to the end of the pencil. How innovating is this?!

I wish I had all 12 colours but I feel it is a waste to purchase here since the prices are more expensive than when purchased from Korea. I'll have to try online and grab them for a better price.

Nail It! :)

I had received a few goodies from a dear friend that went to America for a holiday.

I received two Sephora by OPI Trendtips Real Laquer Strips.
These are like the Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips which was released mid last year.
They were a great hit as it was new and innovative with no drying time and long lasting wear. They are actual nail polish which has been formulated into stick on strips with a wide range of colours and designs to suit anyone.

I have to say, they are a bit of a hassle to put on but once you get the hang of it its a breeze.
The packet comes with 16 pieces in different sizes so you match and fit the strips onto your nails depending on the sizing.

I applied top coat over to give it more of a shine and help last it longer.
To remove, all you need to do is use nail polish remover like normal.

Review It!

So... I'm not one who likes to pack on make up when I go to work.
So I like to steer away from foundation and stick to tinted moisturisers or just a light brush of compact powder foundation.

I have 2 tinted moisturisers to review for you today.

1. Origins Vitazing SPF 15
2. True Solutions all day moisture.

Origins Vitazing SPF 15. Energy-boosting moisturizer with mangosteen.
I purchased this product a while ago thanks to Tiffany D on youtube. She constantly raved on and on about how much she adored this product so I just had to try for myself. This tinted moisturiser is unlike any other one I've tried before.
It applies smoothly and sinks into the skin well with a very faint hint of the cosmetic cream scent that wouldn't put anyone off. At first the formula is somewhat pale in colour but as you work the product into your skin it reacts and turns a darker colour depending how long you work the product in, leaving it looking very natural on any skin colour.
I cannot remember the price but I remember thinking it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be considering it is an imported brand.
To me the formula is moisturising enough to wear alone but for those who like more, then a day cream before this would be ideal.
I will definately repurchase this product again as I love the finish and colour it gives to my skin  and its a plus with the mangosteen enhanced giving the skin a healthy feeling.

On the left is the product worked into the skin. As you can see in comparison to the original colour on the right it is definitely different. You can also see the colour difference on my hand surface.

True Solutions all day moisture. Broad spectrum SPF 30 tinted cream
I received this in the April Lust Have It bag and was delighted to see the size of the sample. It was decent sized meaning I could truly test out the product and see whether or not I actually enjoyed it.
So far it isn't too bad. The smell is pretty much non existent but smells clean and the colour is visibly tinted with a tan/medium brown colour.
The formula itself is thin but needs to be worked in pretty fast as it sets almost instantly into the skin which is a plus for people who have a few steps in their make up routine meaning you wont be layering on products that seem to mix on the face surface.
I personally need to moisturise first before applying this product as it doesn't pack enough moisture for the whole day.
Will I purchase the full size? Probably not. If anything I will stick to my Vitazing or try out another brand.

Hope you liked my input and review of these two products.
Which tinted moisturiser do you use?

Nail It! :)

Yes yes, I need to change my nail polish every week without fail.
I get so bored of my nails if I don't change them regularly.
I will admit, I have a nail polish addiction and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!

So I was over at my friends house before heading out to hot pot (mmmmmmmmmmm) and my polish was chipping so I decided to do my nails since she had a range of different OPI colours.

I opted on a purple ombre look with each nail gradually darkening in shade.
I had a decent selection of purple shades to choose from so it wasn't hard to achieve the look.

OPI - Sweet Heart
           Rumples Wiggin
          Dim Sin Plum
          Overexposed in South Beach
          Siberian Nights

Its really simple. Just get five polishes that are the similar colour but different shades and paint from lightest to darkest. Very eye catching and fun!

Nail It! :)

Hello lovelies !!

Hope everyone is having a great week despite the cold and wet weather in Sydney. If your anywhere else around Australia or the world.. HELLO! :)

A new discount store opened up at my work area so I went to check it out and found LA Colours cosmetics on sale. I have heard a little bit about this brand but not anything substantial to know whether I should purchase some items or not.
I decided to get this nail polish instead which was something that I was looking for since the Deborah Lipmann Happy Birthday nail polish cannot be found in Australia and its pretty expensive.

Lipstick Battle!

Hello lovelies!

Todays Lipstick Battle is about the IT colour "Orange"

Orange has been popping up in the fashion and beauty world here and there but it has never brought through such a buzz until recent times. Fashion make up has been all about Orange whether it be the eyes or the lips and it is a delightful change from the typical nude/pink/reds.
